Devil & temptation

DEVIL&TEMPTATION

Hey people! I know that temptation is something that we face in our lives daily you may not know it but the devil always finds subtle ways to tempt us.

-One thing that we must remember is that the devil is not a myth. THE DEVIL IS ALIVE AND REAL!

-The devil aways finds ways to tempt us be it something big like murder or something as small as rolling your eyes behind your parents' backs, the devil is always there tempting you to do it.

-But don't worry...God will never leave you...He on your side when the devil tempts you.

-When you use God's word to fight the devil the Lord will strengthen you.

-However, make sure that you know God's word because the devil can also twist the words around to tempt you even more. Like Jesus' temptation...check matthew 4:1-11

Matthew 4:1-11
The Temptation of Jesus

1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.

5Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6"If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: " 'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

7Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.

8Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9"All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
10Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.

11Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

-Always remember that God provides a way out of temptation. And that when you are tempted God knows exactly what you are going through because He has been through it as well as a man when He came to earth as Jesus.

Some bible verses
1 Corinthians 10:13 (New International Version)
13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

James 1:2-6 (New International Version)
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Gospel story

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and everything in it. All He had to do was say the word and the Heavens and the Earth were formed. He also created humans, however the first man and woman (Adam and Eve) sinned which made God very angry. All subsequent generations after Adam and Eve sinned and because God is perfect, holy and cannot accept sin, we were unable to have a direct personal relationship with God as Adam and Eve did. In the old days, people were required to slaughter animals as a sacrifice to God. The dead animal represented what could have become of us if not because of God's grace and mercy. The penalty of sin is death and the blood shed by the animals represents our own blood shed as an atoning sacrifice for our sin. However, surely a mere animal cannot be enough to cleanse us of our sins, God enabled the virgin Mary to conceive His Son(Jesus) ,who was sinless, through the Holy Spirit. When Jesus was 33 years old,He was betrayed by one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, and eventually, Jesus was hung on the cross where He died instead of us to pay the penalty for our sins once and for all. After Jesus' death, humans were able to once again have a close and personal relationhip with God through Jesus. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.(NIV version)Of course that's not the end of the story, 3 days after He died he rose again from the dead fully human and fully God so that we serve a true and living God. After Jesus rose from he dead and went back to heaven. He sent His Holy Spirt to live in the hearts of those who believe in Him and have said the sinner's prayer.

Do you want God to come into your life so that you can receive this gift of eternal life? If you do the say the sinner's prayer...you can say it on your own or get a chrsitan friend to say it with you...

Sinner's prayer

Dear God,
I admit that I am a sinner.
I have sinned against You and I am sorry.
Please forgive me of all the wrong things that I have thought, said or done.
Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my sins.
I accept Your gift and welcome You into my life today.
Please help me to obey You and do what's right.
Thanks You.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen

BIBLE lesson

What is the Bible?

The Bible compromises of 66 books written over about 15 centuries by about 40 men.
It's the true inspired word of God.
The bible is truthful and authorotative.
2Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The bible is the way to know and discover God. It tells us about Gid's man to save makind. We are sinners and so are seperated from God. The Lord Jesus is the only way for us to be reconciled to God.
God is faithful to keep his promises to His people and to fulfill His plan for them.
*A person cannot be considered well-educaed if he has not studied the bible because there are many skills that can be applied to life even today.

*Character is developed by walking with God.
